I have the editor's permission to change the Ikonboard colors to something a little less lame. Please keep b1tchoring to a minimum until I say I'm done.
I'm not planning on keeping the old Detnet colors. I like the monochrome monitor look we used to have, except this time I think we'll go with a nice green instead of amber. If enough people say the new color scheme sux0rs then we can talk about using the old colors 
edit : Just figured out I can leave the current Ikonboard skin intact while I make a new one. To see my progress, use your control panel to change your skin to "Detnet default."

I'm setting up the fonts so they respect the View|Text Size setting in I.E. I think Netscape has a similar feature.
Background color is not in the style sheet, I'll check the template. (edit : yep, there it is. Thanx )
The other color scheme I'm thinking of using is blue. I just don't want the old amber scheme back. It was cool, but it's time for a change. Something easier on the eyes than a lot of reds.

blue sounds good. I don't know about the rest of you, but the red actually made me madder. It's that whole "psychological colors" thing... you know, red = anger, white = calm...

It seems all wrong, currently the text is too big, I use opera so Netscape and IE text sizes mean bugger all to me.
It looks odd where the buttons and the title have little white borders round them, can they be changed?
I don't think i'm alone when I say too much green. Not bitching or whining because at the end of the day I'm happy with just readable.

Methinks Incubus would know about this; please keep criticism of DSL minimal while he's working for detnet. He's not done. There will be adjustments. Your interest is appreciated!!
Let him work for a while, if you please, and if, several days later, it still sux, then shout out! I personally don't like the green idea, and I've not even seen it yet. I've been over at Ic0n0's pity party.

you know you can make several skins.. the same basic skin in many different colors.
like:
DetNet - Amber
DetNet - Cut Puke Green
DetNet - Blue
DetNet - Silver
etc..
