Personally I've had the worst experience with western digitals. They ALWAYS have bad sectors and other problems out of the box. All of the ones I've owned/worked with anyway. That being 7/8 actually. My previous two hard drives were maxtors, no probs, and now I have IBM, works dandy.

I've 2 IBMs with no problems, but I hear there are a lot of complaints of people with failing 75GXPs. Other than that they have a good reputation.

WD's suck. Ever heard "that Western Digital sound?" It's sounds like a ping-pong ball, and it's the sound of a Western Digital throwing one of its drive heads. Goodbye, dear data!
Fujitsu and IBM have served me well over the years. Just make sure to provide adequate cooling for your supa-1337 7200rpm IBM drive. (True of ALL 7200+ drives, actually.)

Seagates rule, I've never had one fail on me. I used to OEM Quantums all the time though. Right now I have two IBMs, two Seagates, a FUjitsu, a Maxtor and a Western Digital that have been running non-stop for a few years. I just don't like the noise of the IBMs they're a bit on the clicky side.

Fujitsu and Seagate rock the casba. Never had one fail.
Overall, I've had the most problems out of Western Digital. IBM's are a close second. They really dropped the ball with those 75GXP's. It'll take awhile before I trust an IBM again.

Interesting how Maxtor is up there...I've had nothing but good luck with them!
I just got a new 30G 7200 rpm, and it nice, fast, and quiet. w00t!

The hell I've voted! Something's wierd here, there are several polls that say I've voted when I never have. Anyone wanna clarify that one for me?
