I apparently caught this stupid summer flu... does anyone have a remedy for it? Symptoms are running nose, headache, tiredness and allover body ache... Tylenol is not available in this country.

Please help me get well again... *sniff*

Take 2000mg of Vitamen C (at least) and a mulit-vitamen. Sleep for a long time (just lay there if you can't sleep). Drink water.

I have it too.

Couldn't sleep last night. That is, until NyQuil. I still feel crappy though. My ears feel plugged and my nose is runny.

Um, I believe the body can only absorb so much Vitamin C. Taking 2000mg is like smoking an entire bag of grass in one sitting: it’s a total waste. Besides, a general rule to life is that anything in excess is unhealthy.

Of course, I could be wrong. Please understand the difficulty in taking vitamin advice from someone who doesn't know how to spell vitamin.

(sorry. painted a funny mental picture )

edit: found this at http://www.dietsite.com/NutritionFacts/VitaminsMinerals/WaterSolubleVitamins/Vitamin\%20C.htm :

  • Diarrhea
  • May cause kidney stones (debatable – ed.)
  • Impaired immune function
  • Withdrawal symptoms
