Where did everyone's nick come from? I don't know all the allusions, so help me along.

Mine is from the Roman emperor. I have to admire someone that will crucify anyone and everyone that pisses him off. That's punishment and deterrence. The bodies lined the road into the city.

Kolbe...means flask in danish (The ones you have in labs). My friends in the lab started calling me Dr.Kolbe as I managed to disolve the bottom in one with some flouric acid. Later peopled lost the Dr. part and "Kolben" means the flask.

i was choosing a new AIM name after reading a cool star wars book about the sith, so it had sith somewhere in there, and then one of my friends started calling me sithiee, and thought it was more unique, so i switched.

My nick is really an inside joke of sorts with friends.. How it came about exactly is foggy.. but we were joking about Big Brother is Watching.. which somehow got turned into Joe Smith is watching. And I've just carried the joke along for awhile.. and thus j0eSmith was created....

I read Neal Stephenson's "Snow Crash" and enjoyed it thoroughly. Hiro Protagonist is a bit long to use as a nick, and is usually taken anyways. So I modified it to The Hiro.

If you like Snowcrash, "The Diamond Age" is very good as well. It's sort of a sequel, not really. I'm starting "Cryptonomicon" now. BTW, if you want the origins of my nick, check out issue #6 of b0g at b0g.org, they might have published a pseudo-interview.

Animal is my nick in real life the came from wrestling in gr.9. After i kicked this kids ass i get up and someone yells "That kid is an Animal" it stuck.

yeah transformers!!!...it would rock if the new series didnt rape goats for a living....instead they shoudl just show reruns of the old transformers....or maybe just the transformers movie.
