I've been getting into arguements with people over this, even though this might be over-played, which is the better of the two? Personally, I love the PC. CS!! Yes!

Don't even go there man! I could argue either side with much, MUCH vigilance if I wanted! All I'm gonna say is that they're both good for certain things.

And so the Holy Wars begin again.

Is this really necessary? This will probably boil down to Mac and PC zealots flaming each other.

He’s one of them! GET HIM!

Actually, I totally agree with you, zealots suck regardless of whose side they’re on. I have never even seen a constructive debate over this subject- it usually takes about 3 minutes for it to be reduced to a flamewar.

I will simply say that both have their strengths and both have their weaknesses. I have my reasons for using a PC, other people can use whatever the fuck they want.

There are many reasons to like the Mac hardware. It is fast, and they are actually willing to change up their central processor design every 20 years or so. I'm just not a fan of the operating system (MacOS < X). It's crudely constructed underneigth, it's a cooperative multitasking system (last I heard), and you'll have a harder time finding apps.

I'd love to see MacOS X. It might have some potential to open up the market a bit.

Bottom Line, I'm a Microsoft fan regardless. It's not popular, but I program, and it's the path of least resistance. I can see where Mac has potential take over, but it's not likely because they make a lot of dumb mistakes in management. They have the prettiest cases and peripherals, they're innovating faster than the PC, they have special niche markets (which are growing), but they just can't pull it together for some reason.

I only like macs because of ambrosia software. Mac users go here: www.ambrosia.com They make some kickass games, but only for mac. Escape Velocity is one of the most addictive games i've played.

But for every other use, I go PC all the way. Mac games take forever to come out.

personally, i prefer the pc because its more intuitive for me. i guess the real reason i hate macs is because to get anything done on one i need the hand holding. but i will admit that they are superior for somethings, but i will take a PC almost any day of the year over a mac.
