I'll be there friday morning (10/5)- sunday (10/7) night for a BMES conference and I don't know anyone there. I only have to give a presentation on friday afternoon and then I'm free to do whatever. Kinda like a paid vacation!

I'm not about to stay cooped up in my room with labmates who are married and don't want to go out at night. Anyone go to school in that area? I'm itching to hit the clubs and whatever fun place there is ...

I live in Raleigh, too. Not many great things in Durham; that place is pretty boring i hear. Most people from Durham go to raleigh to do things like go clubbing.

yay I'm back, and I'm sick of all that traveling! I'm glad to be back up north

Wasn't much to do there, but I did get to go clubbing with some really cute guys (yay me!). Was going to go hang out with one of them the next day to check out the town, but the lady he drove down with seemed to have a severe case of PMS and was ubercranky, and considering that he's going to have a long drive back with her, he didn't want to just ditch her there.

What disturbed me the most was that they played some kind of weird country music ... they cracked out the banjos and all ... at the Sheraton Imperial. I was thinking "okay, sheraton imperial, big head honchos of the biomedical engineering present ... it's going to be a classy dressy thing with a live pianist ..." guess not!
